Licensing Disclosure for Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy Licensing Disclosure

The Massage Therapy Program will qualify eligible current students and eligible prospective students for state licensure in the state of Florida. Together with the Career Services Department, eligible students will apply to the FSMTB (Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards) for the MBLEx (Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination) exam. Upon graduation, the Career Services Director will guide those students who pass the MBLEx through the Florida licensure process. This will include completion of a background screening with an approved Live Scan provider as required by the state of Florida.

The complete process and list of requirements to become an LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) in Florida can be found here on the Florida Board of Massage webpage: https://floridasmassagetherapy.gov/licensing/licensed-massage-therapist-lmt/#tab-requirements

Acupuncture and Massage College does not have the resources to maintain a current and accurate listing of licensure requirements by state given that the requirements widely vary by state and are constantly revised by the states. However, the Career Services Department has in the past directed and will continue to direct, students to appropriate websites, documents, or courses for information to those students wishing to qualify for credentials in states outside of Florida.

The following are the best places to obtain MBLEx examination and Florida licensing information online:
