Acupuncture is effective in enhancing wellness in men´s health needs. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) can treat several common male health conditions, including asthma, back pain, blood pressure, digestive disorders, colds, fatigue, headaches, insomnia, heart problems, prostrate conditions, sciatica, thyroid conditions, sexual disorders, ulcers, and urinary conditions. Additionally, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and massage can reduce general aches and pains, improve sleeping patterns and enhance clearer thinking.
Men are often at a high risk for health conditions such as high blood pressure, prostate, diabetes, cancer, and obesity. It has become increasingly important for men to become aware of preventable health conditions, and seek early detection as well as treatment. Acupuncture can return the body to a harmonious state by improving qi flow, or vital energy that runs throughout the body. Acupuncture produces physical well-being while addressing pertinent health conditions. For men that experience general good health, acupuncture can also provide a means of wellness maintenance.
TCM theory determines all male sexual disorders as originating in the kidneys, although other organ systems, such as the bladder, spleen, liver, and heart can contribute to health conditions. According to TCM, one of the kidney’s major functions is storing jing, or essence. Jing is the essence that contains all of the ingredients to produce new life. Kidneys are also the core of treatment due to their close connection with urinary function. Acupuncture can treat sexual disorders and other kidney-related conditions including urinary tract infections, bladder stones and bladder or kidney damage. Dietary modifications may be recommended, as disorders may be partially due to poor dietary habits.
