There are currently over 40 accredited acupuncture schools in the US and more than 20,000 licensed acupuncture practitioners in the country. "Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is one of the most rapidly growing health care professions in the United States" according to the National Acupuncture Foundation.
In the largest and most comprehensive survey to date, a 2002 National Health Survey produced findings indicating that an estimated 8.2 million adults in the United States reported being treated by acupuncture for prevention of pain and other health conditions.
Employment in the alternative therapy and non-mainstream medicine fields (which includes acupuncture, podiatry, chiropractic, and more) is expected to increase by 48.8 percent from 2002-2012.
Acupuncture & Massage College (AMC) is one of the oldest Oriental Medicine institutions in the State of Florida, offering programs in Oriental Medicine and Massage Therapy since 1983. Oriental Medicine is a Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) system which emphasizes a holistic approach in diagnoses of disease processes and focuses on prevention as well as treatment of illness.
A four-year program that can be completed in 36 months, the Master of Oriental Medicine program offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines extensive classroom teaching with rich, clinical experiences. Graduating students enrolled in the Master of Science Oriental Medicine program receive both a Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Oriental Medicine degree.
AMC´s program academically challenges students, merging teaching of practical applications with personal growth. Students complete courses in Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Herbology, Tui Na, and Qigong. The program is designed and delivered by faculty with extensive clinical and research experience.

AMC´s graduates of the Master of Oriental Medicine program are dispersed widely throughout Florida and the United States. Our graduates are employed in shared practices with physicians and chiropractors, university and health centers, HMOs, integrated health clinics, hospital settings, community services, individual and group practices, and wellness programs.
