Benefits of Supervised Clinic Practice

Acupuncture & Massage College’s Massage Therapy and Oriental Medicine programs include extensive clinic practice components for students which instill a deeper understanding of Asian bodywork and Oriental medicine.

Clinic practice fulfills AMC’s mission to prepare highly qualified and effective massage therapists and acupuncture practitioners.

Students are immersed in a clinical and academic setting where they study the diagnostic and therapeutic systems and techniques of massage therapy and traditional Chinese medicine. Students take courses that focus on common medical conditions seen in clinic practice and receive training on how to be effective in a modern multidisciplinary health care setting.

The clinical practice aspect emphasizes a comprehensive approach to patient care in the busy teaching clinic utilizing the modalities learned.  By the time they graduate, students have had extensive experience in patient care and are well prepared to start their own private practices.

AMC’s comprehensive clinical practice includes training in Asian bodywork, traditional Chinese medicine, integrative medicine, herbal medicine, dietary therapy, and acupuncture needling techniques. Enroll in AMC’s programs and study at one of the oldest accredited Oriental medicine institutions in the State of Florida.

AMC’s Massage Therapy program’s clinic practice is designed to build student skills, confidence and comfort level one step at a time. Clinic provides students with the opportunity to practice the various massage techniques they have studied.

AMC’s Oriental Medicine program’s clinic practice occurs each semester. The clinic practice allows students to develop their interviewing skills, develop their case taking skills, write SOAP’s, perform physical exams, write treatment plans, and practice their acupuncture techniques. Students also begin their herbal training with herbal patients and in the herbal dispensary and further develop their tui na skills.

Clinic practice is organized for both individual and group practice for graduates of the programs.
